WASHINGTON — The United States said Thursday that elections in Nicaragua were "not transparent" and expressed renewed concern over irregularities reported by several vote monitors.
"All of these actions, and a lack of full accounting of ballots cast, reduce our confidence in the outcome of the elections," State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner said in a statement. Read more
