When the Concepcion volcano threatened to erupt recently, scores of foreign tourists detoured from their sojourns in Costa Rica and Honduras to get a front-row seat at what they thought was the coming eruption.
Concepcion is a massive mountain, 1,610 meters high. It is located on the island of Ometepe, which is to be found in the 8,624-square-kilometer Cocibolca Great Lake. Read more
